Job Description

Our client seeks a highly skilled CAD Manager to join their dynamic team and elevate their CAD experience. We are one of the largest (over 600 employees!) and most well-established (40+ years) engineering companies in the United States. In this role, you will technically lead a CAD department of CAD Designers primarily using AutoCAD Electrical and Autodesk Vault. You will oversee the design of industrial control panels using AutoCAD Electrical and ensure that controlled drawings and standards are maintained in Autodesk Vault. You will coordinate the work of up to ten CAD Designers.

Responsibilities:

  • Support engineering in designing and documenting electrical schematics, PI&Ds, and panel layouts on projects.
  • Develop and maintain procedures related to the enforcement of CAD standards.
  • Analyze and implement productivity enhancements and customizations (automated quality checks).
  • Provide technical expertise for transferring CAD data to our production CNC machine.
  • Train internal users on corporate CAD standards, new software, upgrades, and best practices.
  • Provide production and technical CAD support for all CAD software.
  • Hold regular CAD meetings to disseminate new information to the CAD Group.
  • Schedule CAD Designer resources to appropriate jobs.
  • Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.
  • Work well with others and handle numerous tasks simultaneously.

Qualifications:

  • Two-year degree in CAD Technology.
  • At least 10 years of experience using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Experience with UL508A Control Panel design is essential.
  • Servant-leadership attitude is preferred.
  • Supervisory or Management experience is a must.

Must Have:

  • Two-year degree in CAD Technology.
  • 10 years of experience using AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Essential experience in UL508A Control Panel design.
  • Supervisory or Management experience.
